Writing On The Wall, formed in Edinburgh in 1966, evolved from a soul and R&B band into a pioneering UK hard psychedelic rock group known for their theatrical live performances and powerful organ-driven sound.Their 1969 album The Power Of The Picts became a cult classic, blending psychedelic rock, proto-metal energy and progressive experimentation, earning support from John Peel and acclaim on the underground scene.Despite strong live success and international opportunities, the band's career was ultimately derailed by management problems, failed record deals and bad luck.
