RATT irrumpió en la escena nacional en 1984 con el lanzamiento de 'Out Of The Cellar'. Con un gancho innegable y un vídeo musical legendario, el single principal «Round And Round» alcanzó el nº 12 en el Billboard Hot 100, mientras que 'Out Of The Cellar' llegó al nº 7 en el Billboard Top 200 y fue certificado triple platino. Le siguieron otros dos singles con «Back For More» y «Wanted Man». RATT comenzó la gira como teloneros, pero al final de la misma se habían convertido en cabezas de cartel.
