Sello: Mute

TGCD1 was Throbbing Gristle's first-ever CD release, originally issued in 1986. The album comprises recordings from their Industrial Records Studio, captured on TEAC 8-Track in 1979 and still sounds remarkably singular and ahead of its time all these years later. Dark, nightmarish, ominous droning soundscapes built from scraping strings, ghoulish voices, subliminal messages, and cut-ups all swamped in copious effects make for an incredibly otherworldly and unnerving listening experience. A belter!
