Songwriter and vocalist Rob Hingley perfected a smooth vocal style, with American influences, throughout these thirteen songs, creating a blueprint for this top-tier band's authentic and unique sound. And while "New York Fever" draws on the best of the Jamaican and British ska scenes, it also burns with the special flame of hyperactive New York City, the epicenter of international ska. The band's performance on this third album is impressive, with brilliant brass explosions punctuating an impeccable rhythm section; each track delivers the breakneck speed so craved by modern ska fans. This album is full of class, charm, and genuine energy: the elements that made the "third wave" ska scene great.
