An album with a carefully crafted presentation, composed of thirteen powerful and combative tracks in which the Basques set aside the punk of their early days to deliver a darker, rawer sound—hardcore bordering on metal. With "Barrio oscuro," a track denouncing the system that governs us, the onslaught of artifacts begins. Artifacts that sweep aside the church, the press, and the monarchy without hesitation.
In "Corruptos," it is the politicians who are left in a bad light, and in the track that follows, "Contra las cuerdas," a song with superb choruses, pessimism comes to the fore. Then comes "Cadenas," a cry against oppression and subjugated peoples, urging them to break their chains and become their own masters. This discontent continues in "Presunto culpable," a track denouncing police brutality, and "Hipocresía santa," in which the church is the one that takes the brunt of the attack.
The arsenal of riffs continues with "Niebla de guerra" and "Ningún respeto." On the latter, it is a pleasure to hear the voice of Carlos, vocalist of Non Servium. Members of The Eyes, Crisix, and Moksha also collaborate by providing backing vocals on other tracks on the album. Just as they did on the album "Polvo en los ojos" with "Pauso bat," the band members from Álava have also included a song in Basque on the new album. The track, which is sure to become a live staple, is titled "Gora Goaz" and gives way to the destructive "Bilis y rosas."
The frenetic rhythms do not let up, and then comes "Apestaís," a standout track, one of the most complete and punk-infused on the album, which serves as a manifesto against the monarchy and its henchmen. With "procrastinación" and "Reactores de muerte," the album concludes—an excellent-sounding record with frenetic rhythms in which the "pitch" never lets up for a single moment.
Once again, Tue Madsen (Sick Of It All, The Haunted...) was responsible for producing an album that was recorded at Music Lan Studios in Girona and mixed at Antfarm Studios in Aarhus (Denmark). The design of the elaborate cover for "Cadenas de odio" was created by Bren Elliott (Arch Enemy, Megadeth...).
