My Lover The Killer is a collaborative project with Marc Hurtado. What began as an undefined musical concept in the summer of 2012 became a prophecy written in blood in November of that same year. My Lover The Killer is a dark and nocturnal confessional. Sinister, sexy and mysterious, the music glides, emerges and caresses the captivating voice that narrates twisted tales full of insinuations, promises and threats. The lyrics are based on the murder/suicide of a former lover with whom she had recently made contact for the first time in over a decade. On the way to Los Angeles, after an early autumn hurricane that affected the east coast of the United States, I sent him an invitation suggesting we meet up for a few drinks. Two days later, during a drunken fight between him and his girlfriend due to his intention of coming to see me, he shot and killed her, called the police and shot himself. He died the next day, the day he turned 55. Every song on My Lover The Killer is a reflection on this tragedy, the terrifying effects of an insane love out of control and the obsessive fragments of a lover who still haunts from beyond the grave.
