The album captures the legendary guitarist in early 1968, when he was eager to develop new material with different musicians. JIMI HENDRIX (1942–1970) already knew what it was like to fill large auditoriums, and two of his albums had made the Top 10, but the guitarist was immersed in a new musical direction. These 12 new recordings offer a great variety of unique sounds and styles, incorporating elements such as horns, keyboards, percussion, and a second guitar, with JIMI HENDRIX playing better than ever and reflecting his growth as a songwriter, musician, and producer. The album confirms what we have always known: his energy and inspiration were unique, and his music will live on forever.
