Los Planetas - Se Quiere Venir - 7"

This new release continues this collection of singles by reissuing one of Las canciones del agua’s songs, “Se quiere venir,” and reaffirms the greatness of Granada’s music scene with a revelatory version of the iconic late-80s track “La torre de la vela,” from 091’s third studio album, Debajo de las piedras.

Los planetas place the two songs that make up this new single on equal footing, deliberately avoiding the labels A-side or B-side. In a brilliant display of heterodoxy, they bring together classic rock and trap, reaching
Cero via shoegaze and Khaled via electronic pop in a powerful demonstration of their exhaustive knowledge of Granada’s monumental underground scene, down to its last hidden corner. High, low, and looking at the ground. Los planetas explore it in the little over eight minutes that their versions of “Se quiere venir” and “La torre de la vela” take to play.

Precise, evocative, delicate, and brilliant once again, Javier Aramburu exquisitely illustrates this fourth installment of the limited-edition 7” vinyl single collection released by El ejército rojo: “Se quiere venir” and “La torre de la vela,” a spiritual journey made accessible through Los planetas’ audio description.
