Valleys of Neptune offers an essential, necessary, and unique opportunity to get closer to and discover Jimi Hendrix’s lesser-known music from the release of the Electric Ladyland album in October 1968 to the opening of Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village in 1970, where the artist would begin his final project: the ambitious double album First Rays of the New Rising Sun.

The songs featured on Valleys of Neptune are: Stone Free, Valleys of Neptune, Bleeding Heart, Hear My Train A Comin’, Mr. Bad Luck, Sunshine Of Your Love, Lover Man, Ships Passing Through The Night, Fire, Red House, Lullaby For The Summer, and Crying Blue Rain. These tracks were recorded in 1967, 1969, and 1970 at Record Plant (New York) and Olympic Studios (London) by Jimi Hendrix (guitar, vocals), Mitch Mitchell (drums), and Noel Redding and Billy Cox (bass), with additional contributions on some tracks from Roger Chapman and Andy Fairweather Low (backing vocals), Juma Sultan and Rocki Dzidzornu (percussion), Rocky Isaac (drums), Chris Grimes (tambourine), and Al Marks (maracas). Alongside this release, the Experience Hendrix Tour 2010 will get underway, the fourth edition of the biennial tour on which some of today’s greatest musicians pay tribute to Jimi Hendrix. The tour will begin on March 4 in Santa Barbara, California, and end on March 27 in Atlanta, Georgia, after 17 concerts. It will feature artists who have recorded and composed music inspired by Jimi Hendrix, including Joe Satriani, Jonny Lang, Eric Johnson, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Brad Whitford (of Aerosmith), and Living Colour, among others.

ENGLISH

Double vinyl LP pressing. 2019 release from the legendary Rock guitarist containing 12 previously unreleased studio recordings.

Ten of these recordings were made between February and May 1969 as the Jimi Hendrix Experience set out to create their sequel to the groundbreaking 1968 double album Electric Ladyland.
