Vicious Rumours formed in London in 1979, releasing a three-track demo in 1982 while honing their live act with some of the most important bands in the punk oi! scene at the time, such as Infa-Riot, 4 Skins, and Business. Their inclusion on the classic compilations “Son Of Oi” and “Oi! Of Sex” in 1983 helped them become one of the most promising bands of the second wave of English street punk bands. Their subsequent recordings came via Oi! Records in 1986, with two tracks included on the compilation “This Is Oi!!” and their highly anticipated debut full-length album, “Anytime Day Or Night!”. From that point on, the band entered its most active period, participating that same year in other compilations such as “Oi! The Resurrection” and “Sound Of Oi!”, this time with Link Records, which finally produced their brilliant second studio album, “The Sickest Men In Town”. Originally released in 1987, it contains 12 sharp tracks full of melody and power, with lyrics packed with humor (which inevitably remind us of the beloved Peter \u0026amp; The Test Tube Babies).\u003c\/div\u003e\n\n\u003cdiv\u003eThat same year, they also appeared on the compilation “Oi! Glorious Oi!” while continuing to perform live shows, culminating brilliantly with their live set at the “Oi! The Main Event” festival, held at London's Astoria venue during Easter 1988. Shortly thereafter, the band split up, although fortunately leaving us with great works such as the one we have the pleasure of presenting again on vinyl.
