After resurfacing in 2019 with three superb new albums in a burst of creativity, 2023 brought a devastating blow: Ramón Rodríguez, the band's voice and driving force, left amid personal turmoil. In 2024, a meeting with Pep Masiques, the band's bassist and a cornerstone of the group, rekindled the flame. With the signing of Marc Prim, a drummer with deep roots and past ties to the band, the group was reborn. The 20th-anniversary shows for their third album, Orion's Belt (Bcore, 2004), in Barcelona and Madrid were a resounding success, a burst of joy and reunions that strengthened the band, culminating in the release of the live album Madee Live At LaNau (Bcore, 2025).

Now, 25 years after their recording debut, Madee are back in action this October with a new album: Bury Me In The Craters Of The Moon (Bcore, 2026), the eighth of their career.

They will perform it live on October 22 at LaNau, Barcelona, with tickets now on sale at Ticketmaster.

This is their most direct work, a flash of light in their sonic universe. No one can guess why or how much time has to pass for that to happen. In the 90s and early 2000s, the best state bands were born out of friendship, learned to play together, recorded however they could, played wherever they could, and, if they were lucky, managed to release with a label and get into some alternative media. No one knew if what they were doing was 100% original or if their records would still be listened to twenty years later, but it didn't matter either: you had to live the moment. Madee was one of those bands and BCore one of those labels. And here we are, twenty years later, confirming what we only had a hunch about: that the scarce five years in which Madee was active (from 2002 to 2007) before returning to activity in 2021 were brilliant, unique, and unrepeatable, and that excellence helped raise the quality of an entire style –emo made on the peninsula– like no band had done before or managed to do afterwards. (Pepo Márquez)

For now you can listen to the first advance Single “Live in my words” of what will be the next album by Madee “Conundrum” BCore 10/2/2023.
In addition, this Single includes a couple of unreleased tracks (“Foreshadow”, “No end in sight”), from the same recording, which will not be included in the album.
On our BandCamp you can download them for free.

We also announce the first two release dates and put early bird tickets on sale
16/6/2023 Barcelona, La Nau, early bird
17/6/2023 Madrid, Moby Dick, early bird

#Indie Rock #Emo #90’s
Limited edition of 300 copies on silver vinyl. And in that invisible pact between musician and listener, spells, flashes, and songs always slip through. Madee’s return after 14 years of musical hibernation, following the comforting “Eternity Mingled With The Sea,” now adds a new chapter with “In The Cold Season,” another powerful work that confirms their vibrant and fertile productivity. A beautiful reflection of the band’s desire to keep searching for burning mirrors, precious stones, and heartbeats echoing beneath carpets of leaves. Thus, “In The Cold Season” is undoubtedly another beautiful invitation to travel with the Cabrils band along a path that was already illuminated by the poems of their friend Mark Swanson on their previous release. The sincere verses of the American poet and photographer once again map out a human journey that stops at specific viewpoints: a toast with a raised glass to the Beat Generation (“Drinking Wine from a Paper Cup”); introspective reflections on the need to make the most of every moment (“Deception Pass”); ghosts of a confused and painful adolescence (“In The Cold Season”); the tranquil, also healing, observation of nature (“View Finder”), or the tender wait for the return of a loved one—in this case, Jeremy Enigk, leader of Sunny Day Real Estate and The Fire Theft—“From the Window Behind Your House.” And Ramon, Adam, Capi, Pep, Marc, and Antonio deliver with determination, with that ability Madee has always had to sound exciting. Without shying away from unusual angles or melodic hooks. Whether fiery or subdued. And with that distinctive romantic depth that special bands possess. Experience is on the side of the song. And, above all, a talent that knocks you flat on your back. Those are Madee’s credentials: exceptional sensitivity and uncommon savoir-faire. If Songs from Cydonia (Bcore/Cydonia, 02) was the result of months of work to precisely thread together eleven evocative, laid-back, velvety gems, The Secret Chamber represents a shift toward the abrupt; rawer, less sweetened. A great rock album, mature, adult, full of nuances and with a touch of complexity that proves the immense class of Cabrils’ six (now with a keyboard player). Madee formed in 2001, but they had already been playing together for years, on a journey of sounds that have evolved from the noise of Sonic Youth or Girls Vs. Boys, through indie close to Archers of Loaf and Superchunk, to culminate their maturation with sounds close to Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral, or even U2, and now twisting us like Pink Floyd or hypnotizing us like The Flaming Lips. There’s no secret; Madee know their music, all kinds of music. And they have in Ramon Rodríguez one of the most brilliant vocalists on the national scene. An exceptional voice that on Songs from Cydonia sang of spiritual loneliness, while now it pays tribute to life through the figure of his two very young daughters. There are times when love hurts and you take refuge in the night and the darkness; other times when love fills your life with light and understanding. If you are capable of moving the listener in both cases, from introspection, from two different albums, from interplanetary or mythological imagination, from an asteroid or from a pyramid, then you’re good, gentlemen… very good. That’s why Madee is a band that commands respect when they play. The respect of six musicians absolutely immersed in their atmosphere, an atmosphere they are capable of carrying from the stage to the audience. Although it’s better to remove the audience’s seats, because although we tend to think that a band, as we’d all say, chill, requires a chill-out attitude (read: from Coebot to Sigur Rós, passing through Low) to optimize perception, the difference is that Madee is a rock band in which the guitars sweat and the ankles vibrate.

Apparently, all Madee recorded for their “Orion’s Belt” (2004) tenth-anniversary reunion are the two songs on this 7”, the first release in a “BCore Singles Collection” that also celebrates something: twenty-five years, they say it quickly, of BCore.
