Released in 1982, it was the band’s debut and one of the wildest releases to emerge around the legendary compilation This Is Boston, Not L.A., making it clear why Boston was one of the key cities for understanding the birth of US hardcore.

There is no artifice or polished production here: everything sounds fast, abrasive, and completely out of control. Very short songs, blistering riffs, and a provocative attitude made The F.U.’s a particularly controversial band within the scene, always playing with irony, dark humor, and that adolescent chaos that made hardcore of that era so special. In addition, the original cover illustrated by Pushead is an icon of American punk in its own right.

If you are looking for albums that capture the exact moment when hardcore stopped being fast punk and became something much more aggressive, Kill for Christ is a must-buy. A raw, uncomfortable, and essential classic, perfect for those who look beyond the obvious titles and want to have one of the most intense gems of Boston hardcore in their collection. Furthermore, it remains one of those albums that when you play it today still sounds just as urgent and out of control as it did over forty years ago.
