An album that established her as one of the most exciting and challenging artists in pop music, Amy confirms, beyond any reasonable or unreasonable doubt, her remarkable and indisputable talent. Amy shines thanks to her refined way of songwriting and her boldness as a lyricist. In Back To Black, Amy teams up once again with the producer of Frank, Salaam Remi, and for the first time with the New Yorker Mark Ronson (Lily Allen, Robbie Williams, and Christina Aguilera).

When making this album, Amy says: I have been listening to a lot of music by girl groups from the fifties and sixties. I like the simplicity of that music. And it can be heard in the subtle reference to the Supremes in Back To Black. But her search extends even further: Amy frees herself with Aretha's vocal style in Just Friends or in Rehab. There are also modern compositions with a more classic feel: Love is a Losing Game or songs in the purest Blues style, Back to Black.
