At that time, the early works of DRI and Suicidal Tendencies, among others, had a considerable impact on Boliche and Enric, and they drew inspiration from them to get started. We are talking about the end of 1986.

In that early stage, Marc, the bassist for S.K., provided them with the necessary support until they found a bassist and started writing songs. “Sólo y Plenamente Eso,” “Música,” and “Fresas” are the tracks that remained from that first batch. Marc Petit, from Anti-Dogmatikss, was the next to join them, and Kio followed shortly after.

The main characteristic of Tropel Nat is the personal crossover between punk-hardcore and metal, the instrumental heaviness and the melodic vocals, often at a much more relaxed tempo. The four members of Tropel Nat felt and experienced music differently, but they expressed it on the same plane, which made it possible to balance speed, power, melody, and harmony in a way that was quite unusual at the time.

The main story of Tropel Nat unfolds with this lineup, and it is why the band is best known. They recorded more than one demo, but the one that reached the public was the “Demo 11 tracks (1989),” which was given away free with the purchase of a T-shirt. They used to play around Catalonia, although they never stopped touring the Basque Country. In the Basque Country, thanks to the selfless help of Javi from “Basati Diskak,” it was relatively easy for them to spend 10 or 15 days playing, something that was not possible in the rest of the peninsula.

Thanks to the collaboration of Petra Ostertag from Berlin, they also managed to tour Germany and the Netherlands for a month. Unfortunately, after the tour and for personal reasons, Marc left the band. They played their last concert together at Sala KGB in Barcelona on September 28, 1989.

The second stage began with Alfred from “Corn Flakes” as the singer and the band’s evolution toward probably more elaborate, though not as direct, compositions. At the end of 1991, they managed to combine a tour with the recording of an LP in Switzerland. They played on weekends and went into the studio during the week. The result was the release of “Vivir” on the “Momentos Thrashicos” label in 1992.

They always felt that recording did not reflect the band’s true personality, and the sound production took them quite far from what the band was actually still playing live. Tropel Nat played a few more concerts after the album’s release, but for purely personal reasons, they decided to disband. Once again, their last concert was at Sala KGB on May 23, 1992.

Interesting note: The name “Tropel Nat” came from merging the two finalist proposals when choosing a name. One was “Rapid Nat,” which in Catalan means “Born Fast,” and the other was “Tropel,” which in Spanish means “A crowd that moves and acts without order and noisily.” The sound of the combination “Tropel Nat” seemed so cool to them that there was no discussion about it.

Limited edition commemorating the 35th anniversary. 300 copies of the 1988 demo tape, which was originally a promotional release.
